The Search Engines Are Not The Enemy: Ethical/White Hat SEO

Written by Jacqueline Zenn

Many SEO companies view Google and the rest of the search engines as the enemy - they are always trying to determine ways to beat them, or to break their rules and get their (often-spammy) websites highly ranked.

However, our online marketing agency certainly doesn’t consider the search engines as an enemy to beat or a target to attack; rather, we consider them tools to help our clients grow their businesses.  Think of it this way - the basic purpose of any company’s website is help them get new customers.  Search engines can drive massive amounts of traffic to a site if it is on page one for popular keywords, and of course the more traffic a website gets, the more likely some of those visitors will convert into customers.

Essentially, our SEO company views search engines as incredibly valuable tool to drive traffic, not as something to beat or trick.  After all, working within the search engine guidelines and creating the best possible content is a much more positive long term solution than trying to trick the search engines into ranking your site more highly.
