Rounding Out Twitter for SEO Week

Written by Jacqueline Zenn

To round out this week’s collection of posts on Twitter and how it affects your search engine optimization and online marketing campaigns, our SEO company is highlighting another post on Twitter - this one is from Jeremy Schoemaker, a.k.a. ShoeMoney, and it covers his thoughts after using Twitter for four months.

His opinions are remarkably similar to our own.  Twitter is a great way to keep in touch with other bloggers and social media types; it is much more convenient than email and less intrusive than instant messenger.  It is also a great way to drive traffic to our blog posts and articles - posting a teaser and link on Twitter helps us reach lots of interested followers very quickly and efficiently.

The ability to search Twitter for tweets about various topics and find bloggers/reporters in different niches has also been invaluable, especially since our agency’s client lists spans a wide range of industries.  It is also useful for keeping up with breaking news and local events - we’ve found out about plenty of things that we would have never known about without Twitter.

So how long have you been using Twitter, and has it changed anything for you?  Let us know in the comments!

I think I joined Twitter a couple of months ago. I agree - I’ve found it an invaluable source of information and great advice from like-minded people.

It’s interesting to see how your traffic peaks depending on who is re-tweeting your blog post as well. I’ve been lucky enough to have some of mine mentioned by users with particularly large followings, and the traffic spike was instantaneous.

The main trick with Twitter, I feel, is incorporating it along with your other social media and online strategy (including SEO and SEM). Once you have all these tools running alongside each other, that’s a pretty impressive arsenal for anyone to have. :)

Good quick quality information that is not to wordy and over the heads of people. I am a follower and contributor within the twitter community. I also appreciate this post because its direct and spot on. Plus, shorter is nice when reading on the iPhone.
