Optimizing Your Tweets: Twitter Tools For Online Marketing

Written by Jacqueline Zenn

Since it seems to be Twitter week at our SEO company, posting about our favorite ways to optimize your Twitter experience is definitely appropriate. The first one of those would be TweetBeep, which is basically Google Alerts for Twitter.

TweetBeep lets users track keywords and brand mentions on Twitter, and sends notices right to your email account (search.twitter.com lets you do it through RSS). It definitely makes it easy to track trends in your industry and manage your Twitter reputation.

Another useful Twitter tool is Quotably, which allows you to follow threaded conversations in clearer manner than Twitter’s own dashboard. Quotably is especially useful for keeping track of popular and prolific Twitter users - definitely helpful for those who are in fields where Twitter use is common, like search engine optimization, online marketing, or really anything technology related.

We also really like TwitterLocal - it lets you find tweets from certain locations, based on user profiles. TwitterLocal is especially great for people who are trying to connect with others in their general geographic region.

Of course, there are also the many, many options for shortening URLs to make them tweetable, as well as Twitter clients for iphones, Blackberries, and various browsers. Lo-fi Librarian has a much more extensive list of Twitter tools as well.

Please share your favorite Twitter tools in the comments!

a couple of weeks after your post I have written about new tools like Mr.Tweet and different stats tools to optimize your twitter experience, thanks for making me aware of TweetBeep which seems a great monitoring tool for brands/clients.
