Holy Cow! We’re On Page One! SEO From Harry Caray’s Perspective

Any baseball fans reading our SEO company blog are probably familiar with Harry Caray, one of Chicago’s most iconic sports personalities, and announcer the St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland A’s, the Chicago White Sox, and most notably the Chicago Cubs. In fact, the Cubs are playing as we write, so it seemed fitting to make Harry Caray the subject of this week’s “what if _____ was an SEO?” post.

First of all, consistency and enthusiasm would be the name of Harry Caray’s SEO game. Besides the fact that he always famously sang “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” during the seventh inning stretch (and he was the first one to do so), Harry had an incredibly long career in broadcasting and legions of fans due to his remarkable enthusiasm for the sport and his craft. In his own words, “I’ve only been doing this fifty-four years. With a little experience, I might get better.” He certainly wouldn’t rest on his laurels - or cease his SEO campaign once a site landed on page one.

He’d probably also be an avid and natural participant in the social media conversation, as he claimed “My whole philosophy is to broadcast the way a fan would broadcast.” In fact, he’d probably be an excellent social media marketer, thanks to his rapport with his fans and obvious passion for his subject. What’s more, his overall attitude and philosophy would probably help him fit in pretty well at popular social news sites like Digg, Reddit, and Fark - after all, he did say “booze, broads, and bullshit. If you got all that, what else do you need?” (actually, that sentence sums up a good amount of the content on those sites as well).
