SEOGroup Character of the Week: The Notorious B.L.A.G.O. - Illinois Governor Blagojevich

Our SEO company has decided to resurrect our character of the week with a person who’s name is certainly in the news today: former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.  After all, we are a Chicago SEO company, so his impeachment is definitely the biggest local story at the moment.

Of course, it almost goes without saying that Blagojevich would be a black hat; after all, if he was 100% ethical he would not have been impeached today.  He’d probably figure out every possible way to trick the SERPs and skirt the search engine guidelines, but if his online marketing career mirrored his pollitical one, he’d get penalized and eventually banned.

His writing style would probably be controversial and likely expletive-laden (if the internet had a “bleep” button his posts would light it up).   And he would definitely buy and sell links - if he was willing to sell a senate seat, he’d definitely sell something as minor as a link.  His shady campaign finance activities don’t exactly help his cause either, and he’d definitely need to be skilled at online reputation management, if only to defend his own name!

So, fellow Chicagoans and online marketing consultant who followed the notorious B.L.A.G.O, what do you think?  What kind of online marketing consultant would Blagojevich have been?  Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
